For now, several operational e-battery swapping stations are up and running in Kampala at Oryx service stations and may more upcoming countrywide before end of 2024.
The Yongeza-branded charging points will allow riders of electric motorcycles to swap their depleted battery for a freshly charged one in a process that takes less than a minute. The charging points shall be available 24/7 and can be located using a handy app.
With a range of 80-100km, Yongeza batteries deliver reliable, silent and emission-free transportation along with an estimated 30% saving on fuel costs vis-à-vis internal combustion engine (‘’ICE’’)
