Oryx Energies appoints new Managing Director Supply & Speciality Products and Services

Oryx Energies has appointed Mr. Philippe Evrard as Managing Director Supply & Speciality Products and Services, as of March 1, 2013.

Mr. Evrard will lead the company’s oil trading activities and the planned expansion of its speciality products and services, which include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), lubricants, bitumen and a specialised bunkering service.

“Philippe Evrard brings extensive experience in the oil industry, as well as strong management skills,” said AOG Chairman, Mr. Jean Claude Gandur. “He will play a key role in ensuring that our growing energy platform continues to respond and adapt to the energy needs of sub-Saharan Africa. In particular, he will drive the implementation of a seamless service and quality products for consumers and industry across the region,” he added.

Philippe Evrard joins Oryx Energies from Totsa Oil Trading in Geneva, where he most recently held the position of Chartering Manager. He has had an extensive career within the oil trading industry and brings a wealth of experience in chartering, crude oil trading, products trading and the oil refining business. In particular, he has held a number of management positions at BP Oil International in Antwerp, London and Paris, as well as Elf Trading and Totsa Oil Trading in Geneva. He has a degree in Business Engineering from the University of Mons, Belgium.
